BRITS & GRITS 4-H Club and L'il BRITS & GRITS are as follows:
The BRITS & GRITS 4-H Food Club will hold its July meeting this Thursday, July 23rd at 1:30 p.m. The program will be THE EDIBLE LILY by Dr. Christine Coker of the Coastal
Research Center in Biloxi. She will probably also talk about other edible flowers. The food club is inviting members of CHEH to attend this program. If you can let us know that you are coming, please call Val Bayes at 601-270-4874. We would appreciate it, as it would help with numbers. If you have friends or know someone that you think might be interested in this topic, please feel free to invite them.
Our club is beginning a project to collect items to send overseas to our soldiers. Since we do not have to pay for our program (as I did when I heard her at the Lawn and Garden show!) we are asking that you support us in this effort if possible. Apparently, our soldiers do not get many of the basic things that they need -- sunscreen, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes and paste, chap stick, etc. They would also appreciate gum, hard candies and snacks (peanut butter crackers, jerkey, etc.) and reading material. Even if you do not get to attend the program, please consider supporting us in this project.
If you have questions or need further information, please call Val at 601-270-4874. Hope to see you Thursday!
